Times Higher Education Young University Rankings

It's time for ranking: UniSannio compares itself with young universities from all over the world in the Times Higher Education Young University Rankings. The University of Sannio ranks 102nd in the world among universities that are less than 50 years old. A very good position that places UniSannio in the first quartile, or in the top 25% of the 475 young universities in the world. Even more flattering is the positioning with reference to search products.

In this case, the University of Sannio occupies the 54th position worldwide. This particular result confirms the similar success already recorded in the global ranking which includes over 1500 universities. The ranking made public today is specific to young universities, which are under 50 years old. The methodology is analogous to that of the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, also known as THE WUR for evaluating research-intensive universities in all their core missions: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international perspectives. However, the weight of the various indicators is recalibrated to best reflect the profile and mission of young universities.

"The rankings must not overwhelm us when they treat us badly and must not exalt us when we come out well - said the rector Gerardo Canfora -. Each ranking for the chosen parameters and for the construction method gives a partial view of the rich and articulated university world. However, the data can provide general indications to be taken into consideration to guide our programming, which is always aimed at improvement. Comparison is always useful and we are very pleased to appear for the second time in the prestigious international ranking of the Times Higher Education, and even more to see our university compete head-on both globally and in the small club of young universities. UniSannio is in fact very young. It will remain in this specific ranking for another 27 years and is on track to further improve its performance in a supranational context”.
