Assignment of the degree thesis
The request for thesis assignment may be submitted by the student after having earned at least 100 ECTS credits (CFU).
Once this requirement is met, the student must:
- complete and sign the thesis assignment request form, indicating two courses and the respective course instructors; the courses (including elective or optional ones) must be included in the study plan;
- using their institutional email account, send the above form to the chosen supervisor (i.e., the instructor responsible for the first course indicated); the form will be duly signed by the instructor to indicate acceptance and returned to the student by email;
- using their institutional email account, send the completed form, also signed by the supervisor, to the Didactic Administrative Support Office.

Following verification of the chosen supervisor’s thesis workload, the Didactic Administrative Support Office registers the request and notifies the student accordingly. If the chosen supervisor’s thesis workload is deemed excessive, the Didactic Administrative Support Office informs the student that they must contact the lecturer indicated as the second choice on the request form. At least three months must elapse between the date the request is submitted (the protocol registration date is authoritative) and the thesis defence date. If the student wishes to change the subject and supervisor, the same procedure used for the first assignment applies, and the time limits start anew.
