Education and continuous professional development

As part of its continuing education activities, the University has launched a series of initiatives aimed at teachers and, more generally, the school system.
Since 2016, the University of Sannio has served as a Lincei Hub within the national project “I Lincei for a New Teaching Method in Schools: a National Network”, aimed at primary and secondary school teachers. The University has been involved in teacher training (including the organization of PAS and TFA programs, and more recently, PF24 under Law 107/15). It has also organized training courses in partnership with the Campania Interuniversity Center for Lifelong Learning, of which the University of Sannio was both a partner and administrative headquarters, and the Regional School Office for Campania, aimed at improving basic skills in literacy and numeracy among students in the Campania region.
As part of its lifelong learning efforts, the University has promoted several initiatives for teacher training related to permanent teaching positions in schools, including PAS programs, the second cycle of TFA (for the subject classes A017, A019, A059, A060), and PF24. Notably, the Lincei Hub of Benevento was established starting in the 2015/16 academic year. The average number of participating teachers has exceeded 150, with thousands of students indirectly involved in the activities.
The University of Sannio is also a university partner of the ITS “Energy Lab”, where the course currently offered is titled “Higher Technician for Energy Efficiency and Building Redevelopment in the Design and Execution Phases.”
The Higher Technical Institutes (ITS) are post-secondary technical specialization schools established to meet the demand for innovative and specialized technical and technological skills that enhance the competitiveness of local businesses. They represent a segment of tertiary education outside the university system and train higher technicians in strategic technological areas crucial for the country’s economic development and for strengthening the competitiveness of the most prominent productive sectors in Italy.
ITS are established as participatory foundations that include schools, training institutions, companies, universities, research centers, and local authorities. They represent a highly significant opportunity within the Italian education landscape, as they embody a new strategy that integrates education, training, and employment policies with industrial policies.
