On 12 September in the Cloister of Palazzo San Domenico, at 6.00 pm, Cultura in Cortile UNISANNIO returns with the last appointment scheduled for 2023. The sculptor and crib-maker Salvatore Scuotto will be a guest.

Salvatore Scuotto lives and works in Naples where, in 1996, he founded the La Scarabattola art workshop with his brothers Emanuele and Raffaele. Artisans and artists, the Scuotto brothers combine fidelity to the folkloric aspects of Neapolitan culture with the need to undermine clichés, revisiting crib art and letting themselves be inspired by the squares and alleys of Naples and enhancing the emotional value and narrative function of the objects; art as the possibility of communicating while resisting certain forms of cultural conformity. In the course of more than twenty years of activity, the most important exhibitions to remember are: Monster… the devil of 2003, Pulcinellarifavola of 2004 and The suspended world of 2005. Of 2008 is Characters of terror, demonic and magical-religious of the Christmas tradition south, in collaboration with Roberto De Simone. SCU8 Maninarte and Tradition in Action, edited by Luca Beatrice, date back to 2009. In 2010 the evocative installation Mondi. The organization and participation in Paleocontemporanea dates back to 2013, a collective between antiquity and contemporary artistic expressions. In the same year the Scuottos give life to the ESSEARTE gallery and in 2016 the gallery hosts La terra in una stanza – a wunderkammer for the SCU8 brothers, an exhibition created to recount the twenty years of activity of the group.
