EU Energy Policy
EU Energy Policy
The conference “EU Energy Policy” will take place on Friday 2 October 2026 at 9:30 am at the Sala dell’Assunta in Benevento.
In the current geopolitical context, EU energy policy plays a central role in the economies of the Member States and represents one of the areas shaping the future development of European integration.
The event, organised by the Italian Association of Scholars of European Union Law (AISDUE) and the French Association for European Studies (AFEE) and funded by the Jean Monnet Module ELPOTIC – European Energy Law and Policies in Times of Crisis, coordinated by Professor Nicola Ruccia, will provide a transnational forum for discussion of the main legal and policy issues concerning energy in the European Union.
The conference will focus in particular on outstanding issues concerning relations between the European Union and its Member States in managing energy crises, as well as possible future scenarios for European energy policy.
The programme will bring together judges of the Court of Justice of the European Union, professors of EU law from universities in Italy, France and Luxembourg, and executives from multinational companies operating in the energy sector. Particular attention will also be given to early-career researchers from Italy and France, selected through a Call for Papers, who will contribute to the discussion with their research.
The conference will conclude with an address by Edmondo Cirielli, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
