On June 12, 2025, at 7:00 PM, the Palazzo San Domenico in Benevento will host an internationally significant event that intertwines scientific research and musical expression: “The Music of the Universe: The Discovery of the Most Energetic Neutrino Ever Observed”.

Organised by the cultural association Note di Classe – Linguaggi Universali, in collaboration with the University of Sannio, the INFN – National Institute for Nuclear Physics, and the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli,” the event aims to bring the public closer to one of the most fascinating frontiers of contemporary physics: the study of cosmic neutrinos.

During the evening, the results of the international KM3NeT Collaboration will be presented. This project investigates subatomic particles using a massive underwater telescope installed on the seafloor of the Mediterranean Sea. At the heart of the event is the recent observation of the most energetic neutrino ever detected, a discovery that also received wide acclaim in the journal Nature.

Speakers will include Domenica Di Sorbo, president of the Note di Classe association; Gerardo Canfora, rector of the University of Sannio; and Daniele Vivolo, professor at the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli and researcher at INFN – Naples Division.

Enhancing the experience will be a musical performance by Maestro Emanuele Procaccini, who will guide the audience on an evocative journey where science meets art, and sound becomes a narrative of the universe.
