The University of Sannio and the DEMM Department, from Wednesday, July 2 to Friday, July 4, 2025, starting at 2:30 PM at the Sant’Agostino Complex, are organising the first joint conference of the three scientific societies representing Italian Agricultural Economists — SIDEA, SIEA, and CESET — entitled:
“Territories, Food, and Society: between global challenges and complexity.”

This high-profile scientific event brings together the three Italian scientific societies of Agricultural Economists to discuss studies, research, and analyses on the major challenges facing agriculture, agrifood systems, and rural territories. The conference will host prominent national and international scholars engaged in three plenary sessions, along with a talk event featuring entrepreneurs and the Future Food Institute.

As part of this general conference, there will also be three Side Events — workshops that, by embracing multidisciplinary perspectives, foster dialogue between researchers and policymakers on key topics.

On Wednesday, July 2, the first two Side Events scheduled are:

“Perspectives for Rural Development and the Role of LAGs: The Giffoni Manifesto for the Future of Rural Areas,” with participation from Gal Titerno, Gal Alto Casertano, Gal Partenio, Gal Taburno, and Gal Colline Salernitane, concluding with remarks from the Regional Agriculture Councillor;

“Towards the Construction of a New Rural Policy: Challenges and Opportunities for the Future,” organized by the Italian Association of Regional Science – A.I.S.Re.

On Thursday, July 3, the third Side Event will take place, in collaboration with SIEA, CREA-PB, and the Irpinia Sannio Chamber of Commerce, entitled:
“Water Resource Management for Sustainable Viticulture.”
