Economia dell’Energia
A partire dal 21 ottobre e fino al 30 ottobre, si terrà, presso il complesso Sant'Agostino, aula 54-S, un corso breve sull'Economia dell'Energia.
Il corso sarà a cura della Dr. Saira Ahmed, Program Officer presso l’Agenzia Italiana di Cooperazione allo Sviluppo (AICS) e Professor presso l’Air University di Islamabad, e gli interventi previsti seguiranno seguente calendario:

Tale attività è stata organizzata dai Proff. Gaetano Continillo, Erasmo Mancusi e Francesco Pepe, nell'ambito delle attività del Dipartimento di Eccellenza.
Segue un breve curricolum della Dr. Saira Ahmed:
Dr. Saira Ahmed is an Environmental Economist. She has served in United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the International Canadian Development Cooperation (IDRC). Between 2015 and 2022, she was the Director of the Directorate for Sustainability and Environment and an Associate Professor of International Economics at the Capital University of Science and Technology, Islamabad. She remained the technical coordinator for Government of Italy’s Program for Poverty Reduction (2020-23) implemented by Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) and the Luiss Business School, Rome. With UNIDO Vienna, she led the team for the formulation of the UNIDO’s Country Program vision for Pakistan for 2023-2027. She was a curricula expert for the Government of Pakistan and worked for the internationalization of vocational and technical curricula (2018-2022) in collaboration with German International Cooperation.
She has published extensively in areas such as macroeconomic modeling, inclusive growth and infrastructure reforms, trade and taxation policies, regional trade agreements, trade in services, energy governance, water infrastructure, youth employment, women-led social enterprises, and social safety nets. Her book chapters and publications are available online on researchgate.com.
As an honorary contribution, for the past 13 years she is the lead coordinator for Pakistan Italy Alumni Network (PIAN) and has been working in close collaboration with the Excellency Ambassadors at the Embassy of Italy in Islamabad for the promotion of Italy’s academic, scientific and cultural achievements and strengths.
