Valeria Iazzetta was born in Frattamaggiore, Italy, in 1996. She received a Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering in 2023 from the University of Naples Federico II. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Information Technologies for Engineering at the University of Sannio. Her research focuses on Raman spectroscopy and Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS) applied to oncology, particularly for the biochemical characterisation of cancer cells, the investigation of intracellular anticancer drug distribution, and the analysis of cellular responses to drug treatments. Her research also includes the experimental characterisation of microfluidic devices, on-chip Raman and SERS measurements for cancer cell analysis, and the characterisation of Raman probes for on-chip measurements. She also applies artificial intelligence and machine learning methods for the classification, clustering, and analysis of Raman and SERS spectra acquired from cellular samples.
